Overview and Responsibilities
We are looking for a Senior Manager, Finance to join the Black Entertainment Television (“BET”) Networks Finance Team. The BET Finance Team coordinates all aspects of the accounting and reporting functions of the Network across its various lines of businesses, including programming, marketing, ad sales, distribution, and live events. This position will manage the financial components related to Operating and SG&A expenses across these key line items and other aspects of BET’s P&L.
In partnership with the Vice President of Finance, the Sr Manager will primarily support the following:
• Support understanding, management, and presentation of BET’s financial documents, with an emphasis on high impact spend tied to Marketing, Live Events, SVOD (BET ), and other areas of business
• Generate and analyze financial reports to support monthly revenue, variance analysis, and FP&A processes
• Prepare reports and executive summaries for senior management
• Query and report on data from various internal financial systems
• Utilize and improve systems to automate reporting and implement efficient tracking processes
• Assist in developing and automating multi-layer reporting for long range planning and analytics
• Build relationships with Finance teams across the brands/businesses
• Participate in exciting ad hoc strategic projects, opportunities, and business decisions
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required, a focus in Accounting, Finance, or related area preferred
• 4 years of related FP&A and/or accounting experience in a cross- functional team
Additional Qualifications
• Knowledge of financial principles and analysis
• Analytical problem solving skills, ability contextualize data effectively and efficiently
• Able to lead multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Proactive self-starter and phenomenal teammate, ability to learn quickly, be flexible and adapt to changing industry and organizational landscape
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Experience with SAP and/or Longview are a plus
• Interest in and passion for media and technology
