Overview and Responsibilities
The Product Manager will be responsible for the successful execution of digital products on BET.com and CentricTV.com. You will work side-by-side with designers, developers, and content producers directly to deliver cutting edge work on time and on budget.
This role’s primary responsibilities include managing the development of customer-facing interactive projects for BET Network’s websites from inception to launch. This includes product ideation, preparing comprehensive project plans, setting the scope of work, creating and hitting timelines, managing the development process, and assuring product quality through to testing and launch. You will act as a communications liaison between teams to ensure deliverables are on time and meet the needs of the key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
• Be the voice of the user inside the business and communicate the product vision to stakeholders
• Drive the definition and execution of product plans from vision, requirements, wireframes, specifications, information architecture diagrams, and initial design through to market launch and evaluation of success metrics
• Act as an internal liaison; facilitating open communication across multiple, cross-functional teams to achieve goals and ensure work is completed on time and within approved budgets
• Provide status reports and updates to stakeholders on the project detailing any action items with their respective delivery dates
• Integrate site analytics, usability studies and market analysis into product requirements to ensure success
• Balance UX, business goals, and technology capabilities to create a successful product
• Thoroughly plan interactive projects with milestones for design, development, and content included to ensure the product is delivered on time and on budget
• Participate closely in the development process (e.g. creating and prioritizing work tickets in JIRA, answering development questions, performing acceptance testing, attending daily scrum meetings).
• Gather any needed assets and ensure items are organized and accessible to production resources in a timely manner
• Think creatively and bring innovative ideas to digital products and sponsored executions. Look for creative production solutions to technical challenges
• Keep abreast of marketplace – proven best of breed, as well as new and emerging trends.
• Partner with our product group to innovate and evangelize solutions and product ideas that improve operational efficiency, revenue, and overall customer satisfaction
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3-5 years of experience in managing web projects. Minimum of 2 years in customer-facing product management.
Additional Qualifications
• Experience with responsive design and creating products for all screen sizes and devices
• Strong project management skills. Proven ability to set priorities and produce timely results.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and a natural ability to engage seamlessly in a positive, professional and helpful manner across technical and business stakeholder teams.
• Ability to thrive in a time-sensitive work environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Possesses a good eye for design and has a passion for creating great user experiences.
