Director of Marketing
Develop and execute the overall marketing strategy for the Performing Arts Center including institutional branding, the capital campaign, development growth, the performing arts school and the theater to build the brand across the northeast region
• Develop and incorporate marketing plans and strategies for events, institutional and development to drive revenue
• Oversee implementation of marketing strategy - including campaigns, events, digital marketing, and PR
• Maintain branding strategies for all aspects of bergenPAC
• Coordinate with the graphic artist to ensure that style guidelines are adhered to across all aspects of the business
• Manage all direct mail campaigns, including coordinating with other departments to acquire all the mailing lists and approval for relevant content, the mail house and printer
• Manage the marketing side of the Spotlight Program Guide to ensure that all bergenPAC content is updated, on message and on deadline
• Manage marketing budgets to maximize spend/sales ratio
• Evaluate marketing campaigns and their effectiveness
• Monitor ticket sales and adjust campaigns accordingly
• Communicate with target audiences and manage customer relationships
• Effectively manage media relationships
• Obtain assets (photos, ad mats, videos, bios, other content) from artist management for each show for all marketing purposes (website, email blasts, media). This is done in coordination with the graphic artist and program manager
• Coordinate with artist management on show marketing on all shows
• Source advertising opportunities and place ads on all platforms (print, radio, TV, digital, outdoor) - including managing paid campaigns on social media for all aspects of bergenPAC, including, but not limited to, events, development and institutional
• Develop digital media strategy and further integrate use of social media networks
• Manage the production of marketing materials including posters, flyers, newsletters, email blasts, print ads
• Work with graphic artist and PR manager to create content, schedule & execute multiple email blasts each week
• Maintain and update customer email database
• Oversee the maintenance of the website
• Create segmented email lasts basis for segmented email blasts
• Write and proofread copy for all media - print ads, radio, email blasts, direct mail, TV, and digital campaigns
• Liaise with designers and printers on pricing, deadlines and deliveries
• Arrange distribution of marketing materials
• Conduct market research; for example, executing post-show surveys
• Monitor competitor activity
• Manage with accounting/finance on payables to vendors including pre-payments and outstanding payments
• Guide the day to day activities of the marketing team
• Coordinate with the box office to ensure that events and discounts are built and manage the number of shows being put on sale each week.
• Collaborate with all departments on things such as membership drives, sponsorship fulfillment, developing new media/sponsorship opportunities and programming initiatives
• Attend events such as conferences, seminars, receptions, and exhibitions
Qualifications
• BA/MA degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field
• Track record of success in the performing arts sector a plus
• Experience in marketing and running a marketing team
• Proven marketing campaign experience
• Effective time management skills and the ability to multitask
• Strong copywriting skills
• Attention to detail
• Proven ability to manage budgets
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
• Experience with digital marketing forms such as social media marketing and content marketing
• Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Knowledge of Ticketmaster marketing assets a plus
