We are looking for a Production Accountant with excellent organizational and analytical skills to work with and liaison between producers and corporate accounting. The Production Accountant must be detail oriented, have great computer & interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage several projects. The Production Accountant must also be a self-starter and act as a key part of the team.
The Production Accountant's responsibilities will include managing financials on small to large scale studio and equipment orders as well as project budgets in conjunction with corporate accounting staff, equipment producers, line producers, and studio booking staff. The Production Accountant will report directly to the CFO and CEO. This role will be responsible for financial reporting and overseeing, from pre-production through wrap, multiple productions simultaneously. The Production Accountant will be able to identify discrepancies and make appropriate corrections to ensure accuracy of quotes, invoices, and A/P, as well as reporting and meeting target budgets.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Support cost tracking on all studio, equipment, and in-house productions
Develop and maintain a cost accounting system
Oversee payroll
Assist producers with financial questions and problem solving throughout projects
Manage, approve costs within predefined parameters, and cross check orders
Wrap all final billing for each production
Recommend and implement solutions to improve process, policies and procedures
Develop KPI's to support decision-making
Analyze and recommend cost savings
Manage employee expense reports
Manage all A/P
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary from $60,000-$70,000 per year depending on experience
Full time, schedule is Monday to Friday

Education and experience requirements:
Bachelor's (Preferred) in accounting or finance
3-5 years of experience in a Production Accountant role servicing either a soundstage/film studio, lighting, grip & electric equipment rental company, TV, Commercial and/or Film productions
Proven experience in a fast-paced environment with multiple departments to coordinate and liaise across
Strong Quickbooks and Microsoft Excel skills a must
Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills
Sound understanding of accounting principles
Bonus: experience with Current RMS or other rental inventory management/quoting platform
Bonus: experience running payroll
