As the Post Production Accounting Assistant, you will perform a cross-functional role working with our Accounting and Production teams. The position requires collecting, compiling, sorting, calculating, verifying, and posting financial & project data for use in maintaining accounting records, project documents, such as invoices and checks, verifying and posting details of business transactions, funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts, though computer and online banking applications.
The Post Production Accounting Assistant directly supports the Production Team and Accounting Department with billing, invoicing, payment, and collection services for internal and external projects.

Responsibilities include:
Accounting data entry (e.g., budget update, journal entry posting - copy/paste/merge, bank statement download, update accounting logs).
Assist in Quarterly and Year-End Tax Filings and other Annual Tax Form distributions (W2, 1042s, etc.)
Project budget monitoring
Income verifications for Participants
Processing Garnishments for Child Support, IRS and FTB
Accounting record keeping (e.g., account payables, general ledger, and other accounting documents, e-filing, scanning)
Check reconciliation (e.g., check paid update for both distribution and A/P)
Check disbursement (e.g., A/P check mailing, check copying - copies of canceled checks request)
Process new hires (for both Funds, residual distribution participants)
Assist Accounting Department
Prepare various accounting monthly audit schedules.
Occasional research to deepen understanding about the latest union contracts, rules, and payscale.
Timely and accurate processing of paperwork, records, and file maintenance
Weekly Payroll processing for talent/directors and distribution
Accounts Payable including vendor setup
SAG payroll
Journal entries as requested
Accounts receivable, including invoicing for initiated and completed projects
Comply with all procedures for invoices, checks, and timecard approvals
Elevate problems to Production and Accountant when necessary
Provide possible solutions to problems presented
Identify and implementation of possible job efficiencies
Consistently communicate professionally, clearly, concisely, timely, and accurately with Accountant, Vendors, Casting, Payroll, New Business, and Post Production Employees
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
Associates Degree in a related field required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
2+ years related work experience required
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
Knowledge of Post Production Invoicing/Payroll
Working knowledge of union pay requirements (e.g., Local 839, Local 700, SAG)
Must be able to maintain confidentiality and security of confidential payroll data
Proficiency in Excel
Must be exceptional at analytical processes, critical thinking, and a problem-solver
Must be well organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter
Must have integrity, honesty, and ethical mentality
Desired Characteristics:
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding payroll and financial information
Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
Ability to work within deadlines and learn concepts quickly
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workloads
Knowledge of Animation process/Animation industry experience
Highly organized & flexible
Strong time management skills
Ability to communicate appropriately across all levels of the organization
Strong communication skills: written and verbal
Entertainment payroll accounting experience (e.g., Entertainment Partners)
Fulltime: Monday to Friday, 8 hrs days, flexible schedule.
Salary commensurate with experience
