Bang Zoom! Studios is looking for a Data Asset Librarian to work in the company's Data Department to receive, assess, store, and distribute post-production digital assets for a variety of project types. The candidate will work and cooperate with the studio's various departments to manage, organize, and deliver digital assets to/from the company's clients.
An ideal candidate should be able to adapt to a challenging and ever-changing environment, be capable of multitasking, and communicate with various departments and clients professionally while following best practices for archiving and asset management.
The position is a temporary, 3-month contract that can lead to a permanent position. Due to security requirements, this position is entirely onsite and cannot be done remotely.

Responsibilities
Receive, log, and handle all incoming source materials from clients to be made accessible to specific departments.
Manage active and inactive digital materials during a project's lifespan, ensuring that naming conventions and file structures are maintained for future accessibility and retrieval.
Manage space, backups, and user access for the Audio Department servers for active project partitions.
Prepare, quality-check, and deliver digital assets to client delivery platforms, following their delivery specs and needs.
Organize, prepare, and archive inactive projects for long-term LTO storage and following proper formatting, verification, and duplication practices.
Discuss with various internal departments their material needs for a project, ensuring all proper assets are provided.
Manage and monitor network servers to ensure digital assets are accessible to the correct individuals so that projects are not halted.
Assist in creating structured workflows that allow for streamlined methods of receiving and providing digital and physical materials to specific clients.
Organize older, inactive projects to fit the current naming conventions and standards for current and future projects.
Establish proper backups and safety nets for digital assets to prevent data loss.
Handling physical materials with digital information, such as CDs/DVDs, HDDs, LTO tapes, servers, and computers.
Confirm successful transfer of digital assets, purging them from locations they are no longer needed once successfully archived.
Researching software and programs to facilitate workflows better as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or experience in Computer Science, Library Science, or a related field.
General knowledge of the Information Lifecycle and best practices for managing data.
Familiarity with LTO tapes and related software for preserving inactive projects.
Experience with catalogs, naming conventions, and/or DAM software.
Migrated/conformed digital materials from obsolete formats to more stable formats.
Experience in assets from older data storage formats such as CDs/DVDs.
Experience delivering/retrieving materials through services such as Aspera, Signiant, or FTPs.
Worked with catalogs and LTO software.
Ability to adapt to change, have a flexible skillset, and problem-solve issues.
Proper organization skills for digital assets.
Knowledge of asset security and best practices to prevent unintentional digital transfers.
Can lift more than 50lbs of physical material.
Can communicate effectively with clients and fellow employees.
Additional Qualifications:
Master's in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or Digital Asset Management degree or certificate.
Familiar with the post-production pipeline.
Worked with network-attached storage operating systems such as TrueNAS and Avid NEXUS®.
Experience with XML, MySQL, and Linux.
Familiarity with audio, video, and/or animation digital materials and specs.
Interest in animation-related media.

Salary: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
