VICE PRESIDENT, CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS – Baltimore Orioles
The Baltimore Orioles are seeking an experienced and dynamic Vice President of Corporate Partnerships to join our executive team. This executive will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and growth of the Orioles Corporate Partnership programs and revenue. This role will focus on securing new partnerships, renewing and growing existing relationships, while collaborating across departments to deliver best-in-class partnerships that benefit both the team and its partners for Oriole Park at Camden Yards and during Spring Training at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, Florida.
This role will be crucial in developing and growing long-term corporate revenue through strategic partnerships that achieve partner objectives while also enhancing the fan experience on gamedays and beyond. The VP will lead a dynamic team and develop strategic relationships with senior-level executives at key strategic partner companies, using a consultative approach to collaborate on solutions and drive mutually beneficial results.
Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, this executive must be an experienced leader and effective storyteller. He or she will infuse energy and creativity into the organization and develop innovative corporate partnerships to drive long-term enterprise value across the Orioles' core business lines. A highly respected and recognized brand, the Orioles partner with prominent and visible sponsors regionally, nationally and internationally.
The Vice President, Corporate Partnerships, will need to develop a mutually beneficial partnership across both B2B and B2C clients. Long-term relationships in a consensus-driven manner will be paramount. The Vice President will need to understand and convey marketing, advertising, brand, and media analytics from the client's perspective. Understanding the Orioles' brand and how to elevate it in the eyes of corporate partners will be essential. Further, the Vice President will possess a holistic stewardship philosophy as a leader within the organization and be a compelling brand ambassador for the Orioles organization.
Strategy & Business Development:
• Lead the development and execution of a multi-year partnership strategy, driving significant revenue growth through new partnerships and retention efforts in complex, strategic partnerships, especially within emerging industries and new technologies.
• Create data-driven, consistent processes for the partnership team to be strategically, fully aligned with one another and all other departments prior to presenting proposals. This includes creating and adhering to rate cards through a combination of market/MLB category research.
• Possess solid organizational and analytical abilities that allow for multiple project leadership, mentoring, and decision-making.
• Develop compelling storylines and pitch materials leveraging primary and third-party data, and partnership case studies, built around a clear understanding of the partner's brand marketing goals.
• Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans consistent with company business objectives as well as review and evaluate market research and analysis to assess performance against budget.
• Possess a deep understanding of P&L structures and how to construct a partnership that balances revenues and costs to maximize return for the Orioles across all business lines.
Partnership Activation and Client Relationship Management:
• Develop innovative partnership platforms across in-stadium branding, promotions, and activation, media (radio, linear/streaming, print, digital), ballpark partnerships, and community engagement that align with the partner goals and the Orioles brand
• Design and implement a comprehensive annual engagement and reporting framework that optimizes touchpoints throughout our partner organizations and effectively articulates value delivered through the partnership
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers at partner companies to deliver unique integrated marketing solutions that drive business for both parties.
• Recruit, hire, develop and lead a high-performing team of sales, strategy, and activation professionals.
Organizational Leadership:
• Be the driving force in the development of the culture, and values of the strategic partnerships group, through personal example, and to establish the style and approach to characterize the company's dealings with customers and the marketplace.
• Foster a collaborative culture that prioritizes innovation, empowerment, and results.
• Work closely with senior leadership to provide revenue updates and adjust strategies based on KPIs and revenue goals.
• Serve as a key representative of the Orioles at league and industry meetings, positioning the organization as a premier partner for corporate sponsors.
Qualifications:
• Must be based in or near Baltimore, MD.
• 15 years of experience in corporate partnerships, sponsorship sales, or business development, preferably within sports or entertainment.
• 8 years of experience managing teams, with a proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop talent.
• Familiarity with the sports sponsorship landscape- particularly in the Mid-Atlantic region is preferred.
• Candidates must have strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to think strategically and execute effectively across multiple platforms.
• Possess excellent mediation and arbitration skills that allow for compromise and consensus-building in structuring the partnerships.
• Experience working with regional, national, and international brands is a plus. The ability to leverage existing connections to quickly establish new partnerships to expand the Orioles' corporate network is preferred.

The anticipated base salary for this role is $235,000-$275,000 annually plus a 20 percent bonus target depending on experience.
