JOB TITLE:
Mascot Performer
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Baltimore Orioles seek a part-time Mascot Performer for game days, events, and public appearances. This is a year-round position who will be responsible for the following:
• Positively representing and promoting the Baltimore Orioles brand at Orioles home games and public appearances
• Being responsible and accountable to appearance schedules; arriving on time and remaining for the duration of games, events, and public appearances
• Exhibiting strong non-verbal communication skills while in costume
• Demonstrating an outgoing performance personality with an ability to interact with fans
• Fostering a fun, safe, and professional atmosphere at Orioles home games, events, and public appearances
• Maintaining a professional demeanor in and out of costume
• Caring for mascot costume and props
• Various event-related responsibilities as needed
Qualifications:
• High school diploma required; 4-year college degree preferred
• 1-3 years' experience as a mascot performer
• Must be able to work at least 25% of Orioles home games including nights and weekends
• Must be flexible and willing to work long hours
• Ability to work weekday business hours if possible
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Ideal Candidate:
• Height of 5' 6'' to 6' 2'' in order to fit into costume
• An energetic, positive, and enthusiastic personality
• Athletic and physically fit enough to wear the costume and perform for the duration of games and in extreme heat
• Outgoing and ready to handle anything presented
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task, think creatively, and problem solve
• Must be a team-first player who works well with others
• Punctual and professional
