Job Title: Analyst, Major League Strategy
Department: Baseball Strategy & Operations
Reports to: Senior Director, Baseball Strategy & Operations
FLSA: Salary, Exempt
Job Summary:
This position works closely with the Major League coaching staff, Analytics, and Player Development departments to advance for upcoming Major League opponents, inform in-game strategic decision-making, and develop and utilize tools for player improvement.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Assist the Major League coaching staff with the preparation of qualitative and quantitative advance materials.
• Communicate applicable and actionable advance materials directly to coaching staff and players.
• Collaborate with Analytics to develop and maintain new and existing advance materials.
• Complete ad hoc and systematic research using SQL and R/Python to enhance in-game strategy and/or player improvement.
• Utilize technology equipment (video, TrackMan, etc.) for player improvement, as needed, and use technology infrastructure for preparation of advance materials.
• Operate in-game video replay, as needed.
• Work with Player Development to develop and maintain player improvement initiatives, as needed.
Desired Qualifications
• Completion of Bachelor's degree, with a preference but not limited to Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or related field.
• Experience with creating and completing advance materials for a Major League club.
• Prior experience with Major League video replay.
• Familiarity with MLB's in-game and transaction rules.
• Proficiency with SQL, R/Python, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate with players and staff members of various backgrounds and responsibilities.
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours (nights, weekends, holidays) as dictated by Orioles and MLB schedule.
• Ability to travel for Major League spring training and road trips.

The anticipated salary for this role is $65,000-$100,000 annually depending on qualifications and experience.
