Back Roads Entertainment is an entertainment company in Austin TX. We've produced over 30 series, specials and pilots, and created shows such as the Emmy-Award nominated ''Lake Life'' on DIY, ''Joking Off'' on MTV, ''Big Bad BBQ Brawl'' on Cooking Channel, ''50 Central'' on BET, and many more.
We develop and produce TV shows across the unscripted/reality world. Our current projects have us working with well-known superstars, creating content for streamers, cable, and broadcast.
Back Roads Interns will be involved in every aspect of the Development process. Interns will learn research and development techniques for unscripted projects, keep up to date on buzz-worthy news and trends and learn how to develop and pitch original formats to the creative team. Interns will also be integral to brainstorming talent for both format-driven and talent-driven shows by researching specific populations.
Back Roads Interns will also be engaged in a weekly Master Class program to learn various steps and stages of development from loglines to one-pagers, decks and sizzles. We'll cover it all over the course of the semester. Every week, our interns are also pitching their own original ideas directly to the company's Founder and VP of Development.
We are looking for interns with a passion for television who are available a minimum of 2 days and up to 4 full days a week. Applicants are REQUIRED to obtain school credit for this internship. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite is preferred. Adobe Creative Suite and video editing is a plus.
The internship will start at the beginning of the Spring semester in the Austin office / remote in Austin.
