Try an internship in Post Production!
Back Roads Entertainment is an unscripted TV production company in Austin, TX founded by Colby Gaines, who co-created one of cable's longest running hit shows, Pawn Stars. Since our inception we've produced over 30 series, specials and pilots for MTV, Food Network, Amazon, Hulu, BET, Discovery and more! We're currently in production on a car restoration show and a family travel series.
We develop and produce unscripted TV shows across genres of food, home, comedy, game, competition and more. Our current projects have us working with high-profile superstars and pitching to every streamer, cable channel, and broadcast network there is.
Back Roads interns will be involved in every aspect of the Post Production process.
From raw footage to final cut, the post interns will get a little taste of everything. We will teach interns the fundamentals of multi-camera editing, the process of preparing and editing footage for unscripted reality, and how to output a show for distribution.
Don't know anything about Post Production? We don't expect you to!
Back Roads Post Interns will be engaged in a bi-weekly master class program to learn all of the steps and stages of post production workflows. Interns will gain a fundamental knowledge of Avid Media Composer and will even have opportunities to practice their skills by editing footage from an existing Back Roads show.
We are looking for interns with a passion for television who are available a minimum of 16 hours a week during the Summer 2023 semester (May 22nd - August 4th 2023). Applicants are REQUIRED to obtain school credit for this internship. Knowledge of Adobe Premiere and a basic understanding of Avid Media Composer is required. This internship will take place in-person at our Austin office.
The earlier you apply, the better. Applications are reviewed as they are submitted and the semester often fills up before the application deadline.
