Overview:
1080 am the Fan is looking for a show host to join the team in middays! Portland's original sports radio station is searching for a host to be added to the lineup Monday-Friday in the Noon-3pm time. Applicants must be energetic, hardworking, relatable to the audience, able to adapt on the fly, and knowledgeable in local, regional and national sports, lifestyle and entertainment topics.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
• On-Air Hosting: Quarterbacking the show with an established co-host. Creating and delivering original content for the midday time slot on-air and over social media while cultivating an engaging environment with listeners and co-workers alike.
• Content Creation: Contribute to the development and planning of show content, including selecting topics, conducting research, and collaborating with a co-host and producer in planning and execution.
• Interactive Engagement: audience engagement through phone calls, emails, social media, and other interactive channels, encouraging listener participation and feedback. Participate and create original content for all social media platforms; managing online personality presence.
• Promotions and Advertisements: Promote station-sponsored events, contests, and advertisements as directed by the station's management. Ensure that promotions and contests are executed properly. Make personal appearances at station events and remote broadcasts.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the show's host, producers, and technical staff to ensure seamless show production and adherence to station policies.
• Research and Preparation: Stay up-to-date with current events, trends, and industry news to inform show content and discussions.

Required & Preferred:
• Professionalism: Maintain a high level of professionalism on and off the air, representing the station positively in public appearances and interactions.
• Knowledgeable: In-depth knowledge of local, regional and national sports. Including, but not limited to: NFL, College Football, NBA, College Basketball, MLB. Specifically, familiarity with content regarding the Oregon Ducks, Portland Trail Blazers, Oregon State Beavers and Portland Timbers is preferred.
• Team player: The ability to collaborate and work well with others.
• Adherence to Regulations: Ensure compliance with FCC regulations, station policies, and industry standards for broadcasting.
• Minimum 5-year on-air experience preferred.
• Additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for prolonged periods, with reasonable accommodations provided as necessary.
• Occasional lifting of materials up to 20 pounds, such as office equipment, documents, and presentation materials.
• Visual and auditory ability to respond effectively to stakeholders, manage presentations, and participate in meetings.
