The anticipated starting salary range for Chicago, I.L. based individuals expressing interest in this position is $38.11/Hr. - $59.3023/Hr.
Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and location of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.

Overview:
WBBM Newsradio, Chicago’s number one news station, is looking for a talented part-time Anchor/Reporter hybrid with an enterprising attitude and impressive work ethic to join our team of award-winning journalists. Shifts will primarily consist of late evening, but may also include early mornings, holidays and/or weekends. You will be expected to operate under tight deadlines, work collaboratively, and pitch story ideas. You will also be expected to be active on various social media channels and contribute content to the station website.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
• Anchor over the course of multiple hours on WBBM Newsradio- including running an audio board for news broadcasting and reporting on various news stories as assigned.
• Operate the audio board of the radio station and maintain the audio content with consistency and reliability
• Deliver the news in a conversational and authoritative way
• Conceptualize, write, produce and record news segments
• Gather audio in the community, conduct interviews on-scene, provide live coverage during breaking news
• Use social media during the course of your shift to connect with listeners, promote upcoming stories and interviews, and to highlight station content
• Contribute content - including but not limited to audio, video and written format – to WBBMNewsradio.com or other Audacy websites as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
More About You:
Required & Preferred:
• Minimum 3-year on-air experience, with news radio format experience preferred.
• Must have solid skills in audio production and have a strong working knowledge of using production and on-air studio equipment and software applications like Adobe Audition, Wide Orbit, VoxPro
• Adhere to all company policies and guidelines of station, management, and FCC.
• You must be dependable, self-motivated and agreeable to a flexible work schedule, which may include early mornings, evenings, overnights and/or weekends.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as well as a strong sense of journalistic ethics
• You must have significant experience anchoring and writing news at a professionally operated TV or radio station
• Familiarity with the Chicago market is a plus
• Required to join the SAG-AFTRA union
• A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of the applicant's own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.
