Position Overview:
The Manager, Community Impact at College Park Skyhawks is a dynamic role that bridges the organization with the local community, ensuring that our initiatives align with the needs and trends of the Southside and greater Atlanta area. This role is pivotal in driving our commitment to social responsibility and community engagement, overseeing all aspects of community programming, partnerships, and initiatives for the Skyhawks. The ideal candidate will be passionate about making a positive impact, possess strong leadership skills, and have a keen eye for identifying and implementing innovative strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development and Management
• Manage and continue to develop the Skyhawks Adopt-a-School Program (Colli's Classroom)
• Develop and manage all Skyhawks community programming based on established pillars and league initiatives.
• Update pillars based on seasonal reviews and evolving community needs.
• Manage all community youth basketball programming
• Coordinate and manage local player tryouts for Skyhawks
Event Coordination
• Execute Skyhawks gameday duties, including welcoming community groups, setting up for FEPs and meeting with potential partners.
• Assign roles and tasks to team members during events, ensuring smooth event flow.
• Collaborate with the Entertainment Manager to fulfill community talent requests.
Partnership Management
• Collaborate with Global Partnerships to provide and amplify community programming for partners.
Community Ticket & Donation Program
• Manage the Skyhawks community ticket program, recording and tracking the distribution of tickets.
• Vet process and document all donation requests.
Research and Trend Analysis
• Stay abreast of new trends in Community Impact and social trends specific to the Southside and greater Atlanta area.
• Utilize research findings to inform and adapt community programming strategies
Budget Management
• Set and manage the CSR/community budget for the Skyhawks initiatives.
Team Training and Development
• Train and manage coordinator on various Community Impact responsibilities and community programming tasks.
• Provide guidance and support to team members during event planning and execution.
Analytics and Reporting
• Utilize data provided by the analytics department to design and evaluate programming.
• Work with analytics to create post-event surveys and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
Content Creation and Sharing
• Upload all Skyhawks community content to G League CSR SharePoint for documentation and sharing.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Meet with players & coaches to share Skyhawks community calendar to provide them with volunteer opportunities.
Collaboration and Support
• Assist with Hawks Community Impact programming initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Community Development, Sports Management) preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in community engagement, corporate social responsibility, or related fields.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with data analysis tools preferred.
• Passion for making a positive impact in the community and driving social change.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for events and initiatives
• Must be able to lift 20-25lbs.
