ROLE: The Equipment Coordinator is responsible for the daily maintenance of the basketball team's equipment needs at both the practice facility and arena.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure that all equipment is prepared and available for the team on a daily basis, for both practices and games.
• Execute a system for cleaning and maintaining all equipment to the exacting standards of a professional sports team.
• Maintain accurate records for inventory and conditions of equipment at the practice facility and arena.
• Responsible for setup, maintenance and appearance of all locker rooms for players, coaches and basketball staff at the practice facility and arena on a daily basis to meet request that they might need fulfilled, including shower supplies, hygiene products and towels.
• Develop and execute a system for restocking all beverages to meet the needs of players and athletic training staff at the practice facility and arena.
• Responsible for equipment room maintenance and inventory, including restocking, receiving orders and distribution.
• Ensure a timely, if not immediate, response to all equipment needs and requests by players, coaches and staff.
• On occasion, and as directed, serve as a main liaison to visiting team equipment managers on game days, handling all of the visiting team needs from meeting the team at morning shootarounds to assisting with pregame & postgame needs, including the delivery and setup of the food for the visiting team's postgame meal.
• Potential for occasional travel with team on road trips, as directed, to provide for maintenance of team's equipment while on the road.
• While traveling, ensure that all luggage is handled safely, from the unloading of the plane until the items arrive to the players/staff guest rooms.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Experience working in Equipment or Team Operations for a professional sports team, or as a Manager for a collegiate sports program, strongly preferred.
• Ability to successfully manage several projects concurrently and independently, with little to no supervision from managers.
• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to be consistently detail-oriented.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and an ability to meet the steep demands and expectations of professional athletes and a professional sports team.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Due to behind-the-scenes access to professional athletes and the sensitive private information of a professional sports team, discretion, trustworthiness and integrity are vital traits.
• Proven ability to work under extreme pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Must be self-motivated and goal oriented.
• Computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to perform heavy physical work. Must be able to lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders, squat, twist and manage other physical demands as needed.
• Must be able to work non-traditional hours including weekends, nights and holidays as needed.
