Position Summary:
The Hawks & State Farm Arena are seeking a Coordinator of Event Strategy and Experience who shares a passion for creating successful events and unique experiences that leave a memorable experience for those that attend. You should enjoy strategizing, planning, and organizing processes that will be executed against strict timelines; and work well with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
The role will support a centralized event and experience function for Corporate Partnerships, Premium, Tickets, Community, Human Resources, Marketing, and Executive requests and will assist in the standardization of how event experiences are created and delivered against our organizational strategy.
Responsibilities
include:
• Working closely with the Senior Director to plan and manage department process and strategy
• Manage the development, design, event creation, and communications for targeted in-house events
• Collaboration with Hawks Corporate Partnership and Membership teams through the process of event requests/opportunities
• Oversee development of pre-event plans and proposals, after-action meetings and post-event surveys, and/or recaps
• Track delivery on KPIs and goals
• Coordination with venues, vendors, and/or contractors
• Pursuing new opportunities, thought-starters, and track trends through research of best practices and trends within the NBA, other leagues, industries, and markets
• Research of new, innovative, and/or enhanced opportunities in events and experiences; seek updates to aid the overall event experience both internally and externally
• Maintenance of current project budgets, tracking of department expenses, and support of the overall budget process
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree
• 1-2 years of client management and events experience preferred
• Demonstrated awareness of event production
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
• Strong attention-to-detail, self-directed initiative, resourcefulness, and drive for innovation
• Exceptional time, resource management, and organizational skills
• Operational project management skills and experience creating work plans, meeting agendas and other collaboration tools preferred
• Strong customer orientation and proven reputation of collaborative work relationships
• Ability to prioritize workload and act with appropriate urgency
• Calm appearance under pressure
• Readiness to work outside fixed business hours if necessary (e.g. mornings, evenings, and weekends)
• Sense of humor and capacity to succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
