This is a Full Time Job
The Company is looking for a detail-driven individual to join its team as an Accounting Manager. The position holds responsibility for all accounting and administrative duties necessary to issue accurate, timely and comprehensive financial statements and tax returns. This includes, but is not limited to, reconciling the general ledger, billing, accounts payable, consolidation, and maintaining the accounting systems. This position works directly with all departments and is a key contributor in keeping financial processes running smoothly.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
• Organize, plan, and review month and quarter-end financial closing in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, including reviewing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statements
• Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
• Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
• Manage own work flow, including proper delegation when appropriate to staff according to their experience and capabilities
• Assist with the preparation of monthly internal and external reporting packages
• Assist with compilation of information for preparation of tax returns, including sales and use
• Advise and assist with the documentation and implementation of new accounting standards, including but not limited to Lease Accounting and Revenue Recognition
• Review Arena Event Settlements with concert promoters
• Process employee expense reports and Accounts Payable (low volume)
• Review and recommend accounting policies and processes
• Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls
• Collaborate with the finance department to support overall department goals and objectives
• Assist in preparing for annual and league audits, including the resolution of audit issues and providing information, as necessary
• Train and mentor direct reports, providing technical advice to staff for complex accounting situations, as needed
• Work with each direct report to establish departmental and individual goals/objectives for each year and monitor and advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, required
• CPA, required
• Minimum of 5 years of related accounting experience and at least two years of supervisory experience, public accounting experience preferred
• Ability to manage employees, while multi-tasking large projects
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
