True Trainee Program Summary:
Here's your chance to experience a bold and dynamic organization firsthand. The Atlanta Hawks & State Farm Arena will be looking for passionate team players to participate in our 2021-2022 True Trainee Program. The program is designed to give top candidates real-life experience in the sports and entertainment industry, in addition to providing educational and networking opportunities.
The program dates are September 2021-May 2022.
A quick summary about the Affiliate Leagues Digital Media Trainee role:
Are you passionate about sports and gaming with a good eye for great content, a natural ability to relate to fans, and someone who is willing to do the work necessary to help the brands be great on social media? We may have an opportunity for you! We have an awesome brand at the Atlanta Hawks and we're looking to add to our marketing team for our growing affiliates, the College Park Skyhawks (NBA G League) and Hawks Talon GC (NBA 2K League).
What the Affiliate Leagues Digital Media Trainee will be responsible for:
• Coordinate & execute posting for Skyhawks and Hawks Talon GC social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn, Twitch)
• Support the Senior Coordinator of Digital Marketing on building out and maintaining content calendars
• Support Analytics by tagging posts as trained
• Respond to fans in a timely manner when appropriate (answer questions, engage/ create conversations, etc.)
• Forward social complaints, questions and leads to the appropriate team member in a timely manner
• Ensure Corporate Partners are incorporated into social posting schedule
• Staying current with social media trends and topics
• Other duties that may be assigned
What the Affiliate Leagues Digital Media Trainee needs to have:
• Post Grad (recent college graduates within 24 months of graduation).
• Academic and/or Work experiences related to one or more of the following in Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or related field
• Stay current with best practices, strategies, industry standards and regulations related to social media
• Knowledge of basketball and pop culture
• Obsession with social media trends and platforms
• Familiarity with social media post metrics
• Experience with social media reporting and analytics is preferred.
• Experience working in social media for a brand is a plus, but not required.
• Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on business writing skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/projects.
• Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
• Strong team synergy skills and ability to work collaboratively with others whom you have no direct authority over.
• Excellent ability to establish rapport with others and ability to build strong interpersonal relationships.
• Exhibit good judgment and decision-making skills.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effecters, Premier, etc.) a plus, but not required.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends and be on-call as necessary based on the changing priorities of the department.

• Experience shooting and editing photos and video preferred but not required.
• Experience with content management systems a plus

• $15.00/hour plus overtime

Relocation Information:
• Relocation and housing expenses are the responsibility of the Trainee. (Please note, this role must live and work out of the Atlanta, GA area.)
