Human Resources Coordinator (Part Time)
Responsibilities
/ Duties
- Maintain IOI Human Resources Information System including data entry, processing status changes, activating and deactivating seasonal employees
- Track all payroll changes and updates, including deductions, garnishments, reimbursements, fines, WNBAPA dues, etc.
- Update benefits administration systems including processing elections for new benefit-eligible employees, entering status changes and processing employee benefit terminations (to include both staff and players)
- In coordination with Basketball Operations Coordinator and Athletic Trainer, track all medical expenses through insurance and Workers' Compensation processes
- Develop and maintain comprehensive organizational chart to include job descriptions
- Develop and maintain fluid and accessible staff directory
- Participate in recruitment and selection process for course credit internship program. Conduct phone interviews, make recommendations on candidates and facilitate new hire paperwork and hiring process. Attend recruiting and networking events as appropriate.
- Assist in onboarding process to include creating and sending offer letters, setting up new hire in IOI and facilitating paper work, administering new team member access to all appropriate systems
- Maintain filing and document storage systems including personnel, employee relations, I-9 and benefits files. Keep paper files organized and secure at all times. Audit electronic and physical files to ensure data is complete and accurate. Archive files of former employees on a regular basis and maintain file archive database.
- Maintain and annually update staff employee handbook
- Coordinate staff career development opportunities
- Answer all requests for employment verifications
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or relevant field required
- 2-4 years of human resources experience at a professional level to include exposure to HR administration, recruiting, benefits and training. Minimum 1 year HRIS experience strongly preferred.
- Prior demonstrated work experience handling confidential and sensitive data as part of daily job routine.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) skills, presentation skills and customer service skills.
- Previous professional interaction with all levels of an organization and with external contacts. Must be dependable, trustworthy and cordial to employees and general public.
- Able to prioritize and coordinate multiple daily tasks and work within tight deadlines.
- Strong organization skills, attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent follow through.
- PHR certification a plus.
