Position Summary
The Atlanta Dream is seeking a highly analytical and forward-thinking Basketball Operations Analyst to join our front office. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this pivotal role will provide critical decision-making support to executive leadership. The successful candidate will leverage data, financial models, and league regulations to optimize roster construction, ensure strict Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) compliance, and deliver actionable player personnel intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
• CBA Expertise: Serve as an internal subject matter expert on the WNBA Collective Bargaining Agreement, interpreting complex rules to identify strategic advantages.
• Transaction Modeling: Conduct analytical projections for potential trades, free-agency signings, and draft-night scenarios.
Contract Administration & Operations
• Lifecycle Management: Oversee the end-to-end player contract process from initial drafting to official execution.
• Compliance Filing: Manage all formal contract documentation and submissions to the WNBA league office and player agents.
Personnel Research & Basketball Intelligence
• Scouting Analytics: Author sophisticated intelligence reports evaluating domestic (NCAA/WNBA) and international talent pools.
• Trend Forecasting: Evaluate evolving on-court league trends, tactical shifts, and market values.
• Executive Briefing: Prepare concise data visualizations and memos for the GM, Assistant GM, and scouting staff ahead of key decision points.
Systems Infrastructure & Front Office Support
• Internal Tools: Design, build, and maintain proprietary databases and dashboards to streamline front-office operations.
• Data Integrity: Collaborate with internal staff to ensure all player, financial, and scouting data remains secure and accurate.
• Operations Support: Complete specialized basketball operations and administrative assignments as directed by the General Manager.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
• Academic Credentials: Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Finance, Sports Management, or Mathematics).
• Industry Experience: Proven experience analyzing data or operations within a professional sports environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Elite Sports Experience: Prior experience in a WNBA or MNBA front office.
