This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship
The Atlanta Dream is a professional Women's Basketball Team based in Atlanta Georgia and is a place where our team, our fans and our great city come together to represent the community we seek to serve. Position Overview: The Public Relations Intern position will assist the communications team with publicity-generating activities, game day PR operations and administrative duties.
In this role, the PR intern will provide key support to the day-to-day operations including:
• Assist the Public Relations Manager with daily duties
• Own game notes for distribution to local and national media prior to all games
• Write and edit select press releases
• Assist with season-long coverage planning and weekly tracking
• Assist with keeping AtlantaDream.com up-to-date, working in the CMS to post stories, photo galleries, videos and other content
• Help ideate and proactively pitch stories
• Create and update statistical records for daily distribution to coaches and media
• Manage game day press row and help facilitate postgame press conference
• Assist with @AtlantaDream social media calendar and posting
• Accompany players and coaches to media and community appearances
• Other duties as assigned by PR staff or other departments
Preferences:
• Interest in Public Relations/Communications
• Detail-oriented, organized and excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and work with strict deadlines
• Available April-September, able to work nights and weekends and available in-person for all 18 Dream home games and remotely for all 18 road games.
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Strong communication and computer skills
Position reports to Public Relations Manager
This position will be paid, up to 40 hours per week.
