ASPECT, the North Hollywood based motion picture marketing agency with a 40 year history servicing Hollywood's biggest projects, is seeking a solution oriented, problem solver with a resilient and positive can-do attitude to fill the role of Assistant Editor.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prep Theatrical and Home Entertainment Trailer and TV Spots for In and Out-of-House Finish.
• Creating Finishing Preps by Overcutting Picture and Audio, Unmatted Reference with Clip Name and Time Code burn-ins, EDLs, XMLs, Video and Audio AAFs, OMFs; Changes-only Preps; Shot and Dialogue Lists, etc.
• Import Picture AAF and EDLs back into Avid to confirm they work for Avid Finish.
• Proficient in MPAA rules for TRT, Ratings, Green Cards, etc.
• Responsible for logging, syncing, organizing, creating projects & sequence templates, archiving footage, recording ISDN & live ADR/Narration, and other tasks AE-related to Post Production.
• Provide coverage and overcuts of updated features/footage/VFX
• Subclip dialog breakdowns for ingested content
• Transcode, Export, Consolidate, Compress media as necessary
• Collaborate and assist Editors and Producers in managing day-to-day details to streamline the post-production process and maximize productivity
• Work closely with IT and Director of Operations to help streamline workflows
• Keep detailed logs on footage and tracking of all assets
• Prepare sequences and assets for delivery to third-party vendors for onlining, color grading, sound mixing, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have minimum 2 years' experience as an Assistant Editor, preferably in a motion picture advertising agency.
• Must be extremely proficient in Avid Media Composer with experience troubleshooting common Avid issues
• Understanding of shared area network storage (ISIS/Unity/XSAN)
• Understanding of HD/SD formats, file and tape based deliveries
• Understanding of frame rates, conversions, & Codecs
• Ability to prioritize, juggle multiple tasks, take direction, and give direction
• Must have great communication skills
• Must have experience in media management, server storage, and removable external storage.
• Must have experience in setting up post production workflows.
• Must be comfortable with video codec and format lingo.
• Must be comfortable working in Apple Compressor and FileMaker Pro and Avid ProTools.
• Must be meticulous, technical, organized, and creative at the same time
• Ability to work independently and under close direction
• Experienced in fast-paced, high-stress, deadline-driven environment

• Must be very detailed oriented.
• Must be prompt with the ability to respond and prioritize quickly
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including written, verbal, and listening.
• Must be able to communicate at various levels, appropriate to the audience.
• Excellent multi-tasking abilities. Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• The candidate must be an exceptional problem solver.

• Levelheaded, calm and functions well under stress.
• Flexibility in competently juggling competing priorities and changing expectations.
• Experience in marketing/trailer post production environment a plus
