This is a Part Time Job
Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director, this part-time Cafe & Bar Manager position is responsible for assisting with nightly cafe and bar related activities at a live music venue during events. This may include order and repair management, event management, processing transactions, selling merchandise, and assisting as needed during live events.
Ashkenaz Music & Dance Community Center presents concerts, classes, and workshops of participatory dance and music rooted in traditional cultures from around the world. Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Maintaining inventory and reordering as needed
Managing daily menu and special event catering needs
Preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
Using a POS system and till to take orders and process payments
Checking customers identification and age verification
Engaging with customers and advising them about current promotions
Maintaining a clean and organised cafe and bar area, including quickly responding to spills and other health and safety hazards
Monitoring and replenishing stock levels as needed
Serving food and snacks
Clearing tables, wiping surfaces and operating the sink/dishwasher to ensure ample glassware is available
Other tasks as needed
Qualifications, Education and Experience
Must be 21 years or older
A minimum education level of: High School Diploma or its equivalent
Experience using Square POS systems or ability to quickly learn
Strong customer service skills and efined crowd management and problem solving abilities
Ability to de-escalate conflict and enforce venue health & safety policies as needed
As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background investigation
Must have completed the Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Training Program with certification proof of completion
Must have food handlers permit
