Job Overview:
The TV Analyst is responsible for assisting both the TV Team Leader and other TV Distribution team members with the processing of audio and visual programming, sharing in the overall responsibility of ensuring that ASCAP members are properly credited for the performance of their works in audio/visual media.
Successful completion of these efforts requires the careful analysis of television performance, promo, and cue sheet data. TV Analysts will associate programs and promos with performances, verify the accuracy of any data provided, procure and upload any missing data, identify and reconcile discrepancies, and participate in quality assurance procedures to ensure that ASCAP members are accurately paid. The TV Analyst position reports to the TV Team Leader, is situated within the TV Distribution department, and is based out of ASCAP’s New York City office.
Areas of Responsibility & Accountability:
• Identify and match cue sheets to performances.
• Request missing or incomplete cue sheets from suppliers.
• Upload missing performances to the performance database.
• Reconcile the station count and any informational discrepancies within performance data.
• Verify cue sheet content.
• Assign and create work records for cues.
• Control check work records and performances that have been matched by 3rd party vendors.
• Integrate music video programming into distribution.
• Assist with the timely resolution of member-initiated inquiries.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, relevant work experience accepted.
• 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Strong analytical skills and basic research adeptness.
• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize.
• Skilled at handling multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) and internet applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter, independent, and self-sufficient.
• Ability to work and interact with team members on a remote basis.
• Ability to connect and communicate with people at all levels of business and management.
• Performs with both a positive attitude and commitment to being a team player.
• Interest in music, music licensing, and/or the TV and Film industry is preferred.
• This position requires the incumbent to be in the office one day per week.
