Job Overview:
The Representative, MIRS position provides administration support to ensure efficient operation of the MIRS team. This role manages administrative duties including the processing paperwork received via postal mail, email, and fax. Representatives will liaise with both our Business and Legal Affairs department and other various ASCAP Operational areas (including Distribution & Repertory and Membership) to confirm the status of outstanding member concerns. This position also provides support to the MIRS staff to address member concerns and claims directly, as needed.
Areas of Responsibility & Accountability
Member Inquiry Resolution Document Control:
• Process incoming postal mail, emails, and faxes. Ensure paperwork is filed and logged appropriately.
• Manage requests and returns for any documentation stored offsite.
• Action and log payment transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Review documentation in line with best practices to facilitate handover to the appropriate staff member.
Member Inquiry Resolution Support:
• Coordinate the appropriate follow-up related to outstanding paperwork that may be required for inquiry resolution.
• Manage internal and external communication seamlessly via email, phone, and ASCAP's proprietary online account management system.
• Work on project-based tasks including, but not limited to, researching contact information, and tracking or reporting of resolution inquiries.
• Process member performance claims as needed.
Other responsibilities and tasks may be changed or assigned as required, based on business and department needs.
Qualifications
& Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in music Industry studies or business.
• Excellent administrative, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Skilled at prioritizing multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
• Self-motivated and organized to ensure internal and external responsiveness.
• Effective and creative problem solver.
• Must be able to work independently and with a team to meet position, department and company goals.
• Prior customer service experience is a plus.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $50,000 to $50,000 and will be determined on an individualized basis depending on several factors that are unique to each candidate including geographic location (due to differences in the cost of labor), skills, education and prior relevant experience.
