Job Overview:
In an effort to provide superior service to our internal and external customers, the Quality Control Representative is responsible for the analysis, research, reconciliation and maintenance of the ASCAP repertory. Quality Control Representatives report to the Quality Control Team Leader, are part of the Repertory Department, and are based out of ASCAP's New York City office.
Areas of Responsibility & Accountability:
• Perform research and update work records based on the quality review of works at first performance.
• Generate exception reports and document research processes to address anomalies within ASCAP's internal copyright data.
• Update and resolve any issues pertaining to works, agreements, and mandates using information provided via exception reports.
• Facilitate the onboarding of bulk work registration submissions by providing guidance, testing, and reporting to the proper individuals.
• Manage updates to documentation regarding departmental best practices.
• Perform the necessary administrative work to ensure that high-profile/high-value inquiries and/or royalty-based adjustments are handled and processed accurately.
• Take appropriate actions to resolve member inquiries pertaining to works, agreements, or registration discrepancies.
• Follow-up on inquiry assignments and respond to all phone calls and emails in line with department guidelines.
• Contribute to and assist with the coordination of various projects relating to quality control.
• Provide feedback regarding quality-based improvements to workflows both inside and outside of regular duties, when appropriate.
• Assist with general administrative tasks across the Repertory Team by preparing team totals, facilitating meetings, taking minutes, supporting new team members, etc.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree preferred, related work experience acceptable.
• 1-3 years of relevant working experience.
• Strong computer skills, including experience with MS Word, Excel and Access.
• Ability to follow written guidelines to resolve routine copyright-related questions and refer uncertain matters to more senior team members.
• Customer service-oriented approach to both general work and correspondence.
• Comfortable utilizing basic math skills.
• Ability to deduce resolutions by using both ASCAP data and logical problem-solving skills.
• Consistent commitment to professional communication, both in writing and on the phone.
• Interest in music, music licensing, and/or music business is preferred.
• This position requires the incumbent to be in the office one day per week.
Occasional travel for in-person meetings may be required.
