Job Description:
The Membership Coordinator will be responsible for actively seeking new talent, developing their own contact network of industry personnel, attending live music gigs, festivals and industry functions and will meet regularly with other A&R scouts and industry contacts. Reporting directly to the Vice President the person in this role will also be responsible for keeping all London staff up to speed on the status of the various ongoing department projects; will assist the London staff as called upon to facilitate department goals; will interface with ASCAP members (songwriters, publishers) and their teams (managers, attorneys, etc.) as related to ASCAP events and daily needs pertaining to their ASCAP memberships. The person in this role will be trained in ASCAP's internal systems and software and will gain the ability to resolve member issues that may arise.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Attend live gigs, music festivals and industry related functions.
• Managing and updating social media accounts (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Spotify Playlist)
• Contribute to the planning and execution of Ascap London events where required.
• Other administrative tasks/duties as assigned
• Assisting and keeping all London staff up to speed on the status of the various ongoing department projects, goals, budgets and expenses.
• Interfacing with ASCAP members (songwriters, publishers) and their teams (managers, attorneys, etc.) as related to ASCAP events and daily needs pertaining to their ASCAP memberships
• Will be trained in ASCAP's internal systems and software, and will gain the ability to resolve member issues that may arise.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
This job is focused on discovering new music and talent, with additional key office duties as part of the overall Membership Coordinator role. Active participation in the London music scene is key, so an eagerness to attend concerts, music related festivals and industry events is expected, even when not called upon. The person in this role should be enthusiastic about new music and finding new upcoming talent, as well as keeping themselves informed about the music industry at large.
This position requires a good knowledge of the current music scene, strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, diligent organization and a real love and enthusiasm for all genres of music. Must be proficient in Word, Excel and Google Docs, and must possess the ability to maintain a professional and pleasant demeanor when interacting with members and other industry professionals, either on the phone or in person.
