Job Overview
The Representative, MIRS position will provide administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the Member Inquiry & Resolution Services team. Representatives will manage administrative duties such as the processing of any paperwork received via postal mail, email, and fax. This role will liaise with ASCAP's Business and Legal Affairs team and various other ASCAP operational areas (including Distribution & Repertory and Membership) to confirm the status of outstanding member concerns. Representatives will also provide general support to MIRS staff to address member concerns and claims directly, as needed.
Areas of Responsibility & Accountability
Member Inquiry Resolution Document Control:
• Process incoming postal mail, emails, and faxes while ensuring that paperwork is filed and logged appropriately
• Manage requests and returns for documentation stored offsite
• Action and log payment transactions accurately and in a timely manner
• Leverage best practices to review documentation and facilitate the handover to the appropriate staff member
Member Inquiry Resolution Support:
• Coordinate the appropriate follow-up regarding any outstanding paperwork that is required for inquiry resolution
• Manage both internal and external communication seamlessly via email, phone, and ASCAP’s proprietary online account management system
• Work on project-based tasks including, but not limited to, researching contact information and tracking or reporting on resolution inquiries
• Process member performance claims, as needed
• Other responsibilities and tasks may be assigned or changed based on business and department needs, as required.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Music Industry Studies or Business
• Excellent administrative, written, and verbal communication skills
• Skilled at prioritizing multiple tasks or projects simultaneously
• Self-motivated and organized to ensure internal and external responsiveness
• Effective and creative problem solver
• Must be able to work independently and with a team to meet position, department and company goals
• Prior customer service experience is a plus
Occasional travel for in-person meetings may be required.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $50,000 to $50,000 and will be determined on an individualized basis depending on several factors that are unique to each candidate including geographic location (due to differences in the cost of labor), skills, education and prior relevant experience.
