Human Factors Engineer (contract)
Job Description
The Human Factors Engineer / Human Computer Interaction Software Engineer is responsible for driving the day to day creation of future-state business processes and technology designs to support evolving customer and business user needs within a modern and greenfield application development initiative.
Responsibilities
• Work with both business users and external customers to provide inputs to and design new processes within this new system.
• Align future-state processes to business need and working with key business stakeholders to socialize major proposed process changes and quantify benefits and outcomes through experimentation and user-studies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional resources as part of the overall application development initiative (product, business stakeholders, BA/SAs, development, quality assurance).
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree with a concentration or extensive work in human factors, industrial engineering, cognitive engineering, experimental psychology, and/or human-computer interaction
• Experience designing future-state processes including customer journey mapping
• Experience in creating and executing thorough design of experiments
• Ability to conduct un-biased user studies, utilize the scientific method and performing statistical analyses and visualizing information
• Knowledge of and experience using Lean StartUp techniques to design small experiments and learn through experimentation and drive future-state process changes and system designs
• 3 years experience as a Human Factors Engineer, Human Computer Interaction Software Engineer or in a Product Owner, Systems Analyst or Business Analyst role working to design future-state processes of a large and complex new system
• Experience working as a member of an Agile or Scrum team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially as relates to conveying and translating business concepts to technical team members and technical concepts to business stakeholders
• Outstanding problem solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, C#, Javascript, Python, Apex)
Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
