Job Overview:
We are seeking a Director, Finance and Operations to serve as a strategic finance partner responsible for driving enterprise-wide financial planning, forecasting and decision support. Reporting to the SVP, Finance and Operations, this role will partner closely with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver actionable financial insights, enhance planning rigor, and support informed business decisions. The ideal candidate combines deep FP&A expertise, strong business acumen and a process-oriented mindset with the ability to influence outcomes through analysis, storytelling, and partnership. This is a hybrid position with a 3 day per week in-office requirement based out of the ASCAP New York headquarters.
Areas of Responsibility & Accountability:
• Lead the company’s annual budgeting, quarterly reforecasting, and long-range planning processes, ensuring alignment between strategic priorities, operational drivers, and financial outcomes.
• Partner with business stakeholders and senior leaders across the organization to deliver responsive ongoing business decision support and scenario planning.
• Provide timely, variance and cause-of-change analysis identifying not only the numerical cause, but the narrative behind the numbers.
• Participate in creation of departmental annual budget presentations ensuring a level of analytical rigor and consistency across the organization.
• Lead efforts to track ongoing on account and retainer balances at vendors across the organization.
• Serve as a key contributor to FP&A-related system implementations and enhancements, including planning, project reporting, procurement, and reporting tools.
• Identify and advise on opportunities to improve financial planning, forecasting, and close processes to increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
• Collaborate with Executive Leadership and other organizational stakeholders to ensure business risks and opportunities are accurately captured in financial plans and communicated to executive management.
• Provide ad hoc financial and operational analysis in support of evolving business needs and executive requests.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Applied Mathematics or a related field.
• Masters in Business Administration, prior Big Four audit or management consulting experience a plus.
• At least ten (10) years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
• U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or U.S. Charted Financial Analyst license a plus.
• Significant experience in FP&A, financial modeling, executive-level reporting, process improvement and systems implementations.
• Experience within a global Media & Entertainment company a plus.
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles, revenue management, expense planning, project accounting and capital budgeting.
• High proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, advanced Excel formulas) with experience with financial dashboards or automation tools a plus.
• Experience interfacing with multiple organizational functions including Finance, Operations, Compliance, IT / Engineering, Marketing, Strategy, Revenue, etc.
• Relationship building skills; and ability to partner with key internal stakeholders, learn quickly and possess the desire to be flexible and strategic.
• Exemplify the highest degree of professionalism acting as a trusted advisor
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex and sensitive issues to Executive Leadership and explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
• Ability to multitask, as well as assess and change priorities.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work well individually, and in teams, share information, support colleagues and encourage participation and continuous improvement.
• Occasional travel for in-person meetings may be required.

Salary/Benefits
$140,000 - $170,000 /year USD
Salary will be determined on an individualized basis depending on several factors.
