Concert Program Analyst

A Concert Program Analyst credits live concert performances by matching titles from concert programs for Symphonic, Recital, and Educational performances to works within the ASCAP Repertory. CPCD Analysts weigh performances based on their knowledge of the musical genre, instrumentation, and style before entering new title records into the database. Concert Program Analysts are also responsible for maintaining and updating work records with any newly received information. The ideal candidate for this role will be comfortable helping with any special projects that may be required, will possess strong communication skills, will be willing to assist other team members with workload, and will have the ability to identify and recommend process improvements.
Areas of Responsibility & Accountability:
• Matching works on concert programs to titles within PREP (ASCAP’s internal database)
• Classifying works based on genre, instrumentation, and duration
• Utilizing various internet resources to create work records
• Merging duplicate works
• Researching programs submitted by members to include in ASCAP’s annual distribution
• Assisting any special projects on an as-needed basis
Qualifications & Requirements:
• Critical thinking and research skills
• Familiarity with standard classical ensemble instrumentation and music forms
• Basic understanding of copyright protection and public domain concepts
• Knowledge of Google Workspace, Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat
• Ability to work independently
• Wide general knowledge of music, old and new (knowledge of classical and neo classical preferred, but not required)
• College degree in Music strongly preferred
Occasional travel for in-person meetings may be required.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $50,000 to $50,000 and will be determined on an individualized basis depending on several factors that are unique to each candidate including geographic location (due to differences in the cost of labor), skills, education and prior relevant experience.
