Audio Engineer
This Full-Time position will be part of the Chase Field Audio Visual Engineering Team under the D-backs Production and Presentation Department. The individual will be primarily responsible for all Chase Field Audio needs for D-backs Games and Non-Baseball Events, as well as for outside events contracted by Arizona Diamondbacks Events and Entertainment (ADEE). In addition, this role will oversee maintenance and upkeep of all facility Audio Equipment and portable systems.
Primary Duties
• Work all 81 D-backs Regular Season Games, plus any Exhibition and Postseason Games at Chase Field
• Handle all audio responsibilities for D-backs Non-Baseball Events (Community Events, Corporate Partner Sales Visits, Advantage Member Events, etc.)
• Oversee audio requirements for all ADEE Events
• Work with the Director of Game Presentation to develop and implement a musical strategy
• Edit music tracks to be used in ballpark, including Player music requests
• Produce Radio spots for the team and Corporate Partners to be run on the Diamondbacks Radio Network, including Flagship Station Arizona Sports
• Set up and run portable audio systems throughout Chase Field as needed
• Fulfill Audio requests from various internal departments (Marketing, Corporate Partnerships, Community Impact, Broadcasting, Ticket Sales, etc.)
• Perform all tasks to maintain and test functionality of Chase Field audio systems (Public Address, Amps, Speakers, Microphones, IFBs, Portable Systems, Audio Computers and Software, etc.)
• Hire, schedule and supervise game day staff of audio assistants (A2s)
Requirements
• At least 5 years of experience in Live Event Audio Engineering
• Extensive knowledge, proficiency and experience in:
o Yamaha CL-5 Audio Console
o QSC control System
o Waves Audio Plug-ins and Filters
o Dante Audio Systems
o Reidel intercom System
o In-House patching and routing
o Set-up and Strike of portable audio systems
o Audio equipment operation, care, and preventative maintenance
• Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, etc. as game and event schedule dictates
• Ability to perform well under high pressure situations
• Strong communication skills, and expertise working as a member of a team
• Must be comfortable collaborating and receiving feedback
Working Conditions, and Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:
• Ability to lift items weighing 40 pounds or more such as Audio Equipment, boxes, bags, etc. and carry them over reasonable distances without assistance
• Ability to sit for several hours at a time
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain)
• Subject to reaching, twisting and kneeling to perform the essential functions of the job
• Ability to reach all areas of the facility by climbing stairs and ladders without assistance
• Ability to work in large crowds and loud environments
