Lifeguard (Part-time)
Job Title: Lifeguard
Wage: 11.00 per hour
March thru September 2019
Part-time/Seasonal- 2019 Season Home Games
Job Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Sr. Security Manager, Lifeguards are responsible for monitoring activity in the pool and providing life safety services for events held at Chase Field. Lifeguards also enforce venue policies and respond to/assist in emergency situations.
Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:
• Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of patrons in the event of the emergency.
• Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
• Enforce facility and league policies and procedures as well as the guest code of conduct
• Respond to emergencies in a timely and efficient manner
• Assist staff and guests during emergencies including assisting in evacuations
• Complete accurate reports and paperwork including incident and medical reports
• Provide assistance, direction, and information to guests and staff
• Adhere to all appearance and uniform standards
• Provide industry best guest experience
• Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.
• Skill in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
• Basic reading and writing skills
• Basic computer skills
• Strong ability to work well with co-workers and supervisors in a team environment
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance
• Friendly, outgoing personality
• Bilingual-English/Spanish preferred
• Ability to perform all physical requirement of the position
Experience/Education Requirements:
• Current certification as a Lifeguard by a recognized training provider
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification
• NIMS and ICS Training preferred
Physical Requirements:
• Visual acuity
• Dexterity to handle radios, vehicle screening mirrors, hand wands, and other essential equipment
• Ability to lift items weighing 25 pounds or more such as barricade, boxes, bags, etc. and carry them over reasonable distances without assistance
• Subject to reaching, twisting and kneeling to perform the essential functions of the job
• Ability to reach all areas of the facility by climbing stairs and ladders without assistance
• Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner without assistance • Ability to assists guests and staff in emergencies, including pushing wheelchairs and/or picking up, dragging or otherwise moving persons in distress.
