Part Time Unpaid Internship
Intern, D-backs Baseball Academy
Term: January – December 2023
20-30 hours per week
Part-time/ Seasonal
Location: Chase Field/ Phoenix, AZ
Internship Eligibility Requirements:
Must be a junior, senior, postgraduate student, or within one year of post-graduation from an accredited college or university with preferred majors of Sports Management, Marketing, Communications or Business. (If you do not meet the internship requirements, please do not apply.)
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the successful execution of all D-backs baseball and softball programs serving entry-level players
• Assist with the planning of summer youth baseball and softball camp schedule
• Participate in the planning and execution of the D-backs Inter-Tribal Youth Baseball & Softball Tournament
• Assist with the implementation of the D-backs Give Back Youth Jersey Program including jersey donation distribution and Little League Opening Day marketing strategies
• Assist in the coordination and implementation of community baseball outreach programs and events such as Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities, Girls Play Ball, Chase Your Dreams, Fun at Bat and other community events
• Organize game day staff schedules and programming for the Sandlot youth baseball activation and activities during D-backs home games
• Help develop an online marketing strategy for dbacks.com/academy
• Maintain and inventory baseball equipment and premium items
• Organize camper info and by-location camp rosters and lead individual camp check-in processes
• Facilitate online and inbound phone camp registrations
• Assist with grassroots marketing efforts; Pre- and post-event set-up and breakdown
• Assist with the production and execution of a D-backs Baseball Academy strategic plan
Qualifications:
• Preferred baseball or softball playing and/or coaching experience
• Must be passionate and motivated to pursue a career in the sports industry
• Must be a self-motivated team player who thinks creatively
• Must be a multi-tasked, detailed, and customer service-oriented individual
• Must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and great listening skills
• Must have strong leadership qualities and the ability to problem-solve
• Must be computer proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays
• Must be 18 years of age or older
