Job Title: Full-time Grounds Crew Member
Department: Groundskeeping
Reports To: Head Groundskeeper

Job Purpose
• Maintain safe and aesthetically pleasing playing surface throughout season and other events.
• Help maintain outside landscape areas throughout the year.
• Primary (Essential) Duties
• Perform tasks assigned by Head Groundskeeper, Assistant Head Groundskeeper or Outside Landscape Specialist.
• Maintain Playing Field and site specific responsibilities as assigned by Head Groundskeeper. Duties can include but not limited to: Pitching mound construction and maintenance to MLB specifications, artificial turf maintenance, infield skin and warning track construction and maintenance, rolling, topdressing, disinfecting, vacuuming, painting, irrigating, wall pad maintenance, and general overall field maintenance.
• Prepare field for games and practice (BP set up, screens, cage, artificial turf protection)
• Repair artificial turf as needed.
• Replace, fix, install, fine-tune and operate irrigation system.
• Maintain Outside Landscape as directed by Outside Landscape Specialist. Duties can include but not limited to: mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, fertilizing, irrigating, aerifying, rolling, topdressing and seeding.
• Prepare and clean-up Playing Field for non MLB baseball events.

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities
• Operation of a variety of tools, both mechanical power and hand tools.
• Diagnostics for artificial turf and field irrigation.
• Perform work involving repetitive operations with physical skill and energy.
• Proven communication skills and ability to motivate/work well with others.
• Self-starting attitude with ability to work unsupervised.
• Ability to work flexible/long hours in extreme elements and working conditions.

Experience/Education Requirements
• Athletic Field Maintenance experience preferred (Football, Soccer, Golf, preferably Baseball).
• College education preferred (Groundskeeping related degree optional).
• Skills and knowledge required for performance of routine manual and physical work acquired primarily through on the job training.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:
• Lift in excess of 50 pounds regularly.
• Perform repetitive physical operations.
• Work in extreme climates if working on outside landscape (heat).
• Ability to work flexible/long hours (weekends, holidays, nights).
