Social Media Graphic Designer

This is a Part Time Job

Overview:

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Digital Communications, the Part-Time Graphic Designer (Social Media) will provide graphics support for the Club's social media platforms, through ideation, collaboration, and creation. We are looking for a highly creative graphic designer who is well versed in social media and graphic trends and can bring concepts to life to elevate the team's platforms.

Please include a link to your portfolio for consideration. This is a year-round part-time, non-benefitted position. The pay range will be between $35-$45 an hour. Hours of work and days will vary from 10-30 hours a week dependent on business needs. This position is eligible for sick time (after 90 days of employment), merchandise discounts and complimentary tickets to games (12 per season).

Duties:

• Assist in the creation of social graphics for use across Angels properties, including but not limited to game information graphics, milestones, awards, acquisitions, holidays, team announcements, etc.

• Collaborate with and support the social team to brainstorm, conceptualize, execute, and finalize multiple design projects simultaneously

• Identify trends and inspiration and turn them into new concepts to serve the needs of the team

• Work with existing designs and produce original designs

• Follow a style guide and develop a look for our platforms within the brand identity

• Maintain an asset library for use by the social team such as player cutouts, names, and logos

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, in graphic design preferred

• 2-4 years of experience in related graphic design field

• Experience and knowledge of social media platforms, sports, MLB, and the Los Angeles Angels

• Expertise with the Adobe Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

• Strong design fundamentals – solid typography, composition, and attention to detail

• Ability to work productively in an unstructured environment and remain self-motivated

• Maintain a professional and positive attitude and be open to input and constructive feedback

• Must be able to take initiative, multi-task, and independently complete tasks and projects

• Must possess research and creative skills, the ability to develop ideas, and strong communication skills to provide updates on projects and to present mock-ups

• Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays as required

• Must be able to supply links to completed work or other content which showcases experience

• Experience with animation or Adobe After Effects is preferred but not required

• Candidate who is bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus

Physical Demands:

• Frequent sitting or standing for extended periods

• Repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement (while operating computer equipment)

• Occasional bending, stooping

• Eye-hand coordination (keyboard typing)

• Extended periods of reading fine print
