You'll work with our total rewards, lead to price jobs, set pay ranges and build offers, and you'll support the compensation and benefits work that keeps pay fair for the people already here.Done well, this work means leaders get strong candidates quickly, offers are compliant, and the candidate has a first class experience from recruiting to onboarding.
Requirements
Expectations of Leaders at Angel Studios:
Amplify light in every action.
• As the owner of your outcomes, you are empowered to break down silos and coordinate with any and all people you need in order to reach your goals.
• You are ultimately responsible for achieving the outcomes while also using resources wisely - whether that be money, people, or time.
• Know your customer - it might be our viewers, investors, creators, or internal Angel Teams. Ensure you understand your customer and are providing what THEY need and not just what you want to build.
Essential functions
Leading talent acquisition
• Lead, coach and develop Angel's recruiting team: set shared goals, give regular feedback, and help the team grow in both speed and quality of hire.
• Partner with the recruiters to define what great looks like, using measures such as time to fill, strength of the interview slate, and how new hires are doing at 90 days, and share progress with People & Culture leadership.
• Help hiring leaders and business partners receive a thoughtful, well-matched slate, so everyone's interview time is well spent.
• Guide the hiring experience end to end: intake, posting, screening, interviews, offers and a warm handoff to onboarding.
• Bring a compensation lens to every search: price roles against the market, shape competitive and fair offers, and support Total Rewards on pay structure work.
• Keep Angel's postings and hiring practices sound and compliant, including pay transparency and required notices.
• Executive and key hires
• Personally run searches for senior or sensitive roles.
• Manage offer conversations and negotiation for those hires with discretion.
• Job pricing and offers
• Price new and changed roles using market data, and recommend the pay range for each opening for approval by the total rewards lead.
• Build each offer so it is consistent with the pay of Team Members already in the role.
• Keep job descriptions and job levels current as roles change, working with the business partners.
• Compensation and benefits support
• Support the total rewards lead during pay change cycles, compensation structure updates and equity grant periods with analysis and preparation.
• Help with benefits open enrollment and with benefits questions that come up at the offer stage.
If you need an accommodation to do any of this, tell us and we'll work with you.
Competencies
• You hold people to a standard and help them reach it. Your team knows where they stand.
• You care more about the quality of a hire than the count of candidates.
• You're comfortable with pay data and can explain a pay decision in plain words.
• You use independent judgment: you know when an offer is yours to make and when it needs approval.
• You can keep confidence, including about pay and searches that haven't been announced.
• You're at ease with leaders at every aspect of the company, including executives and candidates for executive roles.
• You lead an experience people can rely on, and you fix it when something breaks.
• You take ownership, share context, and are candid with positive intent.
• You care about supporting people and about our mission to amplify light.
Required education and experience
• 5 or more years of experience in talent acquisition or human resources, including full-cycle recruiting and recruiting leadership.

• Experience recruiting for vice president roles or above.
• Working knowledge of employment law as it applies to hiring and pay, including FLSA, EEO and pay transparency rules.
• Experience with an applicant tracking system and an HRIS.

• Experience with market pricing tools such as CompAnalyst.
• Experience as a Business Partner
