Who We Are:
It's an exciting time to join Marketplace. We are an industry leader in telling meaningful and creative stories on the radio with close to 13 million listeners, and we're evolving into a multi-media enterprise centered around the ambition of raising the economic intelligence of all Americans. Marketplace is an ambitious shop, fueled by ambitious ideas. This is a place of creativity and unorthodox thinking. We don't take ourselves too seriously, even though we understand the critical importance of people understanding how the economy shapes the world around us.
Your Role:
Marketplace is looking for a senior producer to oversee a multi-platform product that includes our daily Marketplace Tech show, as well as tech coverage across our other broadcast and digital platforms.
Marketplace’s mission is to raise the economic intelligence of the country through the unorthodox story, the casual conversation, and the unexpected angle on the news. We connect the dots for audiences so they can understand the economic forces – big and small – that shape their lives. We reach more than 12 million weekly radio listeners, and several million more on podcasts, video, and digital platforms.
The goal of our tech coverage is to demystify the digital economy, uncovering and illuminating how tech influences our lives and our economy in unexpected ways. Our coverage focuses on big ideas, like: Who has access to life-changing technology — and who doesn’t? How is technology changing the ways we spend our time and the ways we do business? And what happens when big tech meets government regulation?
This is a management position overseeing a small team.
