Position Summary:
Reporting to the Archives Manager, the project archivist would work independently with some direction to arrange, rehouse, and create finding aids for Minnesota Public Radio’s paper and ephemeral archives collections relating to past programming, events, and membership activities.
Work Location: On-Site, St. Paul, MN

Position Responsibilities:
• Physically processing and arranging paper records and 3D ephemeral materials according to best archival practices
• Labeling boxes in accordance with formatting previously set by the archives manager
• Using Microsoft Word, creating DACS-compliant finding aids at the box or folder level, as deemed appropriate based on the material content
• Performing basic preventative preservation methods, such as removing paper clips, staples, or other harmful fasteners
Required Education and Experience
• Master’s of Library and Information Studies or similar degree, coursework, or demonstrated relevant experience
• Experience processing, arranging, and describing archival collections
Required Skills
, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Understanding of archival arrangement and preservation principles
• Ability to arrange and describing archival or special collections
• Ability to create associated finding aids
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently with some direction
Preferred Skills
and Experience:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication
