The part-time Production Coordinator will support the Audience & Community Engagement team (which includes the Live Programming & Events and Marketing teams) in the coordination, implementation, and execution of pan-organizational events and activities in The Crawford at LAist’s Mohn Broadcast Center and off-site in the communities of Southern California. As well as the promotion of events and data analysis/reporting.
The Live Programming & Events team produces and presents in-person events intended to provide ways for Angelenos to connect with each other, discover new things about their hometown, and learn more about our reporting. We work across all departments at LAist, as well as with external partners to produce our events. This includes producing convenings around LAist broadcast, podcast, and newsroom programming as well as events and activities aligned with LAist priorities; and creating a much-needed space for civic engagement, both at The Crawford and in communities around Southern California. The Live Programming & Events team also fosters collaborations with internal and external partners to deepen relationships with existing audience, create relationships with new audiences, and support organizational goals related to mission-driven journalism, brand, revenue, and audience engagement on multiple platforms. The Marketing department works to increase the visibility and reputation of the LAist brand, including through our live events, and relies on data tracking and reporting to assess where best to allocate resources.
The Production Coordinator is responsible for providing overall logistical support for the implementation of on-site and off-site events, including additional uses of The Crawford facility. The Production Coordinator will serve as a point of contact to the general public, program participants, vendors, and LAist staff, and is therefore responsible for being an ambassador for LAist and ensuring a welcoming, trustworthy, and professional atmosphere, both at events and in other communications, such as email and phone calls.
Location: Hybrid, Pasadena, CA
Expected Compensation Range: $32.25 - $34.65 per hour. The exact hourly rate is determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure, and internal equity.

Position Responsibility:
• Coordinate and/or support the logistical implementation of pan-organizational events that are consistent with LAis ’s mission, strategic plan, priorities, and organizational standards;
• Coordinate and/or support front of house and customer service before, during, and after events including serving as house manager when necessary;
• Support as needed the administration of the live programming & events team such as events calendar, online postings, policies and procedures documents, vendor database and relationships, agreements, releases, permits, facilitation of accounts payable and receivable, and internal team communications;
• Assist with the coordination of event-related onsite vendors, partners, sponsors, volunteers, and other necessary personnel;
• Assist event patrons as needed on ticket-related business;
• Collect audience and event data. Track event metrics;
• Oversee intake, delivery, and trafficking of marketing and social media assets across departments (Marketing, Audience Engagement, Membership, Content, Underwriting, etc.);
• Review assets to ensure brand consistency, correct specs, and timely approvals;
• Develop and maintain standardized templates for event and campaign debriefs;
• Organize and archive final assets and documentation;
• Support cross-functional project tracking and communication related to asset delivery;
• Represent LAist at external community and owned events to help staff tables/booths and engage with the public;
• Enter collected emails and engagement data from events into designated tracking systems;
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
• Experience with event coordination, theatre, and/or live performance
• Experience in supporting successful public events
• Significant experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Interest in public media, events, and/or production
