• Compensation: $20.00/hour

Intern, Finance

This 3-month Accounting/Finance Internship provides exposure to the inner workings of finance and accounting, equipping you with the technical chops and supporting skills to succeed grow in your career.
This internship supports the Finance team to strengthen the organization's financial integrity, business processes, and system of internal controls by working on financial projects and providing accounting support, insight, and recommendations.
Key Learning Goals:
Through immersive learning and real-world projects, you will:
• Expand Accounting Fundamentals - Learn the monthly and annual accounting cycle by completing account reconciliations and supporting schedules, accounting entries, and financial reports to develop core accounting skills
• Conduct Internal Audit - learn how the internal audit process supports the organization's internal controls by planning and conducting an internal audit(s) of key policies, procedures, and areas of compliance
• Build Critical Skills - Being a finance whiz takes more than crunching numbers. Goals will be developed to help you sharpen the soft skills crucial for success like project management, collaboration, and business communications.
• Build an Impressive Professional Network - With hands-on training and mentorship from your team, you'll develop connections that will support your career growth

Responsibilities:
The Intern, Accounting/Finance will work on projects to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Finance Department including:
• Review and improve internal controls
• Analysis and implementation of cost savings initiatives
• Accounting operations process improvements
• Technical research and reporting

Programming:
• Participate in robust on-boarding experience

Required Qualifications
• Students who are currently enrolled and have completed one year of a 2-year or 4-year undergraduate program, are enrolled in a graduate program, or have earned a degree in the last 12 months
• Interest in pursuing a career in accounting/finance or admission into a graduate business program
• Ability to work 24 hours per week, Monday - Friday
• Completed introductory coursework in finance or accounting (e.g., financial accounting, audit, information systems)
• Familiar with and willing to learn fundamental accounting, internal control, and auditing concepts
• Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities
• Effective problem solver requires strong coordination and communication skills
• Objective and curious
• Interest in financial systems and creating efficiency
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous finance or accounting internship or experience.
