Classical 24™ has a deep playlist programmed from one of the country’s largest broadcast music libraries. We have a warm, engaged team of colleagues. This position is responsible for coordinating and creating produced materials for this full-time national classical service and its client stations. This individual will spearhead the production of all fundraising and promo content used by C24 client stations and will design a structure and flow for this content to provide stations with excellent, timely service.
This position sits in the collective bargaining agreement between MPR and Screen Actors Guild—American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (“SAG-AFTRA”).
Expected Compensation Range: $70,543 - $84,652. Exact rate determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure, and internal equity.
Work Location: Hybrid - St. Paul, MN

Position Responsibility:
• Coordinate and produce materials and programs for the national service and its client stations.
• Write fundraising content and produce fundraising materials for client stations.
• Work with the YourClassical team to generate promotional materials and other pre-produced content for YourClassical and C24 client stations.
• Disseminate production requests to staff and ensure all materials meet the highest technical standards, while meeting all deadlines and maintaining excellent customer relations.
• May produce and edit video content for web and social media.
• Perform air shifts as assigned. This includes announcing, commentary, preparation, and voice tracking.
• Operate the broadcast board and studio equipment.
• Makes critical judgments and decisions concerning the credibility, personality and value of music and other program content.
• May participate in the promotion of Minnesota Public Radio, including public appearances and on-air fundraising activities.
• May produce or host live concerts and broadcasts.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of broadcasting experience on air
• Minimum 3 years of radio broadcast production experience
Required Skills
, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Passion for and deep knowledge of classical music
• Excellent production skills and knowledge of Pro Tools editing
• Some video editing and production skills and/or willingness to learn these skills
• Strong and imaginative writing skills and production ideas
• Proven ability to be a consistently strong and engaging national classical music host
• Knowledge of the public radio system
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Creative thinker who can generate inventive ways of reaching audiences on various platforms.
