Principal Duties:
Prepare, test, assemble, check-out and inventory return of all video, and support equipment used by the AFI Conservatory Fellows in production.
On-call technical support for all productions of the AFI Conservatory, Directing Workshop for Women and general AFI events/sponsored projects.
Instruct fellows in the use of AFI owned video, audio and support equipment, including seminars and classes.
Inventory video equipment throughout AFI campus.
Participate as crewmember on AFI sponsored projects, including taping of Harold Llyod Master Seminars for the AFI Conservatory.
Repair video and audio cables and replace broken equipment.
Assist other staff members and fellows in the daily operations of the Sony Digital Arts Center.
Other duties consistent with employee's capabilities or training as deemed necessary by the direct supervisor(s).
Experience/Skills Required:
Knowledge of professional video production and post production equipment and techniques—specifically, the operating and troubleshooting of a wide range of Sony digital video equipment including SD and HD formats and knowledge of multi-channel mixers and various microphones.
Able to teach and converse on film related issues
Working knowledge of local equipment rental and purchasing places.
Video and film background with at least 3 years professional or commiserate experience.
High school diploma
