Entertainment Team Leader
East Rutherford, NJ
The main purpose of the Entertainment Team Leader is to create an innovative and fun family entertainment utilizing specialized skills and abilities. Guide staff to and provide outstanding internal and external guest service at all times. Ensure a positive guest experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Oversee duties and responsibilities of the entertainment staff
• Train entertainment staff in show performance, costume character performance, roaming entertainment, and general public/guest relations
• Provide efficient and effective training to staff for new roles and department responsibilities; also provide creative directions to help performers excel in multiple roles
• Adhere to licensing rules and guidelines
• Responsible for weekly staffing schedules
• Address team members' concerns
• Take direction from supervisors and put into action for the department
• Wash laundry and perform minor repairs on costumes, props, etc.(as directed by supervisors)
• Provide input on applicant selection for employment
• Administer continued training for associates by offering feedback through character and cohort refreshers
• Effectively communicate with guest and team members to exceed guest service standards
• Fulfill staffing requests for internal and external sources
• Address guest complaints
• Brainstorm and create programing for smaller events (Toddler Tuesday, etc)
• Lead and conduct warming up exercises (stretching, warm-up movement) at the beginning of each shift
• Organize, stock and prepare work spaces to accommodate events
• Organize and store documentation of departmental activities
Desired Qualifications:
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• At least 6 months experience within the department
• Previous leadership experience preferred
• Basic computer skills required
• Must be well organized
• Effective communication skills
• Must have outstanding written/verbal communication
• Costume character experience and ability
• Familiarity with current costumes owned by Entertainment Department
• Minimum 2 years of performance experience in front of an audience
• Ability to teach performance skills including workshops, dance and routines
• Minimal sewing skills a plus
Physical Job Requirements:
• Stand/move about -frequently, 90%
• Kneel/crouch- periodically, up to 40%
• Reach at or above shoulder level- periodically, 30%
• Reach at or below shoulder level - periodically, 30%
• Handle/lift large items such as boxes or packages - periodically, 30%
• Bend/stoop/squat - frequently, 50%
• Repetitive motion - occasionally, 30%
