The American Cinematheque is a non-profit cultural organization that runs the historic Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood and the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica. We are dedicated to the public presentation of the best of worldwide cinema, video and television from the past and present - ranging from the classics to the outer frontiers of the art form.
We are seeking a few energetic and detail-oriented people with a passion for films to intern at the Cinematheque starting between June 1st and July 1st 2016 for 6 months to a year or longer.
The intern will assist in event production, programming research, film viewing and managing comp lists for American Cinematheque events. The intern will take on assigned projects related to event production and film programming under the supervision of our Head of Programming. The intern will prepare weekly meeting, take notes, manage online calendar of screenings and will assist with volunteer administration and special events. The intern will also manage database entry when needed.
Through on-the-job training and by exposure to non-profit techniques, methodologies and expertise, this internship will provide the intern with inside exposure to the structure, operations and decision-making processes within an American non-profit cultural institution, which will supplement the knowledge gained from academic study.
