Amblin Partners, a leading entertainment company located in Universal City, is seeking a Head of Production Finance who will have full oversight of the department and team members. To be considered, candidates must have a minimum of 5 years leading a feature film Production Finance team.
Duties and oversight will include but may not be limited to:
Production
• Partner with Legal and Business Affairs, Production, Post Production, HR, and Finance/Accounting Departments to effectively manage the financial operations of feature film production.
• Budget all theatrical films for multiple locations for domestic and foreign filming, including up-to-date tax incentive availability.
• Hire and oversee production accountants for all productions.
• Set up productions including foreign entities and bank accounts considering structure for proper work flow and incentives.
• Prepare and review production & post production cash flows.
• Prepare production cost report tracking and supervision during production.
• Manage production incentive workflow from initial to final submission and ensure receipt of tax credits or cash including the sale of transferable credits.
• Remain current on all production union labor relations.
• Oversee weekly production funding.
• Oversee reshoots in-house.
• Oversee all production insurance claims.
Post Production
• Supervise post production accountants in-house and track EFC for all projects.
• Issue Post Production weekly cost reports.
• Submit required deliverables to distributing studio for residuals purposes (Final SAG cast list, IATSE prorations, etc.)
Other
• Responsible for production-based audits including, tax credits, ongoing MPIP union and residuals, union audits, and year-end audits for corporate and all foreign entities.
• Supervise and administer of all production bank accounts (foreign and domestic), including credit card program.
• Supervise ACA program with EP Cares.
• Manage payroll for production employees through Entertainment Partners.
• Various ad hoc analysis and projects as required.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or other relevant field that demonstrates quantitative orientation
• Minimum 5 years of leading a feature film Production Finance team
• Solid understanding of controllership accounting and entertainment industry best practices.
• Knowledge of tax incentives, payroll processes, union labor agreements and tax requirements.
• High level of personal integrity and professional ethics
• Excellent communication / presentation skills with all levels of management and employees in the organization
