Amblin Partners is seeking an Archives Coordinator. This position will be located in Hollywood and is located offsite from the Amblin Partners Studio in Universal City.
Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to:
Support Collections Supervisor/Database Administrator through:
• Creating accession records for recently received assets
• Conducting processing of assets through inspection, basic preservation, cataloging, and housing
• Digitizing assets and creating metadata in Archives database systems and assist supervisor in monitoring quality control of digitized materials
• Assisting in the fulfillment of internal and external requests, including any preparations for asset circulation (packing, pick-ups, returns)
• Servicing reference requests by researching collections materials and providing pertinent information to requestors
• Assisting in exhibit preparation, installation, and break-down as needed
• Contributing to development and revision of policies, procedures, and workflows
• Special projects and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Master of Management in Library & Information Science, Master of Archives and Records Administration, or Master in Fine Arts is preferred but not required. Bachelor's degree with equivalent experience will be considered
• Experience working with diverse archival collections that include a variety of media and object types
• Experience in digitizing archival collections materials such as documents, artwork, photography, and 3D objects. Knowledge of Federal Agencies Digital Guidelines Initiative a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.)
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Bridge, and Acrobat Pro
• Proficiency with FileMaker Pro, Canto Cumulus, and other database or asset management systems
• Knowledge of standardized metadata/classification schemas such as Dublin Core, mets, and premis
• Knowledge of long-term digital preservation standards and workflows preferred
• Experience with fine art handling preferred
• Knowledge of feature film or television production materials preferred
• Familiarity with digital asset collection assessment preferred
• Familiarity with assessing the condition of a variety of media/object types preferred
• Detail oriented with strong attention to information accuracy
• Lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds
• Ability to adapt and a commitment to continued learning and professional development
