This is a Full Time Job
You're the world's best headline-writer, and you want to show off. We're the world's most popular entertainment site, and we can help with that.
The IMDb Editorial team is seeking a video content merchandiser to inform and execute our strategy for driving engagement and viewership of IMDb video content on our site and apps. Our ideal candidate has a knack for words and a solid sense of how and why people in all demographics consume video. You should know how to write a good headline, how to ensure people actually see it, and how to present data about it.
The IMDb is the world's most popular and authoritative source for movie, TV and celebrity content. The IMDb consumer site is the No. 1 movie website in the world with a combined web and mobile audience of more than 200 million unique monthly visitors.
Responsibilities
of this role include:
• Marketing and building an audience for IMDb's short- and long-form video content on and off platform
• Crafting and continually testing headlines, supporting imagery, and other elements of content presentation
• Devising and guiding the automation of content placement based on user inputs, IMDb programming priorities, and personalization.
• Benchmarking video-content performance across our desktop and mobile sites, as well as apps, and tracking toward core KPIs
• Informing requirements and priorities for video-related products
• Experimenting with innovative ways to increase discovery of IMDb video content on the site
• Identifying opportunities for process efficiency
• Coordinating priorities among multiple stakeholders, including revenue, traffic, and video sides of the business
• Using data to drive and influence decision-making
In this role, you will get to work closely with our video production, events, marketing, and tech teams; there is no actual video production, however, in this role. You will also have the opportunity to promote and attend key events such as San Diego Comic-Con, the Emmys, the Oscars, and the Sundance Film Festival. There's a small chance you'll meet someone famous. There's a 100% chance you'll develop content about one.
Open to candidates in Santa Monica or Seattle.
