Our team builds new experiences for Amazon Music listeners. We help our customers discover up-and-coming creators, while also having access to their favorite music and podcasts. We build systems that are distributed around the world, spanning our music apps, web player, and voice-forward experiences on mobile and Amazon Echo devices, powered by Alexa. Amazon Music products support our mission of delivering audio entertainment in new and exciting ways that listeners love.
Amazon Music's New Projects team is looking for founding team members across a variety of functions, including software engineering/development, product, marketing, and more. Come make history, as we launch new projects for millions of listeners.
As the New Project team's first Sr. Content Writer and Strategist, you'll have the opportunity to shape the strategy for how we communicate with the next generation of artists. We're looking for a bold creative storyteller and a results-oriented Sr. Content Writer and Strategist to develop, elevate, and grow editorial content across our channels, platform, and through rich customer experiences.
Role & Responsibilities:
• Develop a measurable, KPI-based content strategy that speaks to the unique needs of the next generation of musicians/audio creators
• Write, create, and edit customer-facing educational materials about technology products (e.g., terminology, benefits, design, and usage).
• Work closely with product and UX teams to integrate content into the product experience
• Establish a deep understanding of the customer experience, and create content that overcomes obstacles and makes it easier for them to use the product
• Help design editorial and creative production workflows across internal teams
• Develop mechanisms that improve content engagement and relevance, working closely with product and business intelligence teams to encourage customer retention
• Work in a cross functional manner to identify and build on content opportunities across Amazon
Qualifications
• 7 years experience as a content strategist, creative director, copywriter, or similar role with a startup, media, music, production, or Internet company
• Proven ability to work cross-team and synthesize feedback and input from interdisciplinary stakeholders
• Self-starter that can operate efficiently within ambiguous situations
• Demonstrated competency in writing and other types of content creation
