Amazon Music is looking for a Principal, Amazon Music Strategy. The Strategy team works directly with our leadership team to drive critical strategic initiatives and shapes the overall long range strategy for the business. The Principal is a thought leader within the team on the future state of the industry. They identify and evaluate new strategic business opportunities, including new initiatives and partnerships. They lead cross-functional teams including Senior Management, Product, Engineering, and Business to assess these opportunities. Specific duties include market screens and analysis, pipeline creation, deal management, business needs analysis, heavy negotiations, due diligence, transaction execution, and post-deal integration. They create relationships with and have frequent interaction with third-party companies at the CEO/senior management level, representing Amazon Music's interests. They must demonstrate hypothesis-driven, problem-solving orientation and ability to support a thesis with quantitative and qualitative analysis, high degree of business judgement, and appropriate framing of complex business problems. They work on significant and unique business opportunities, which are often unstructured transactions. A Principal should demonstrate a high level of judgement and be able to influence higher levels of management.
Qualifications
• 7 years of professional work experience
• 7 years of experience developing, leading, negotiating and executing corporate and/or business transactions
• Bachelor's Degree
• Ability to see the big picture and larger opportunities with the ability to dive deep into the details to understand what is required to execute
• Ability to develop ideas independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work effective across internal and external organizations
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions
• Ability to build trust quickly
• Bachelor's Degree
